Accessible Places to visit on Dartmoor

Dartmoor should be accessible for everyone to enjoy

Dartmoor should be accessible for everyone to enjoy, regardless of whether you are a top athlete, a family with small children or have impaired mobility or less physical ability than you would like.

There are trails that can be enjoyed in a wheelchair or on a Tramper, which are available to rent at locations like South West Mobility, Devon Cycle Hire and National Trust at Parke in Bovey Tracey.

Organisations such as Disabled Ramblers run a series of guided rambles for the less mobile in Dartmoor National Park, please read the feature articles in Active Dartmoor magazine below;

As time goes on, this page will have contacts, new information, links and specialised articles to help make sure that everyone knows they can come and enjoy the fresh air and stunning scenery that Dartmoor offers, regardless of how physically able they are.

We highly recommend that you contact the accommodation or activity provider direct to discuss your individual requirements before booking your rooms.

If you are a provider of goods, accommodation, activities or equipment that can make life easier for either frail or less mobile visitors, or have specially adapted your premises or restaurant/cafe/accommodation please email us at jenny@visitdartmoor.co.uk
