“ I have never before, in my long and eclectic career, been gifted with such an abundance of natural beauty as I experienced filming War Horse on Dartmoor.” Steven Spielberg.
Bramblemoor is ideally positioned on the southern slopes of Dartmoor National Park, to offer a most varied holiday at any time of the year.
Set within three acres of grounds, the garden and smallholding (with poultry, sheep and goats), are run on organic principles. The sound of the river Webburn running through the valley below provides a constant backdrop to the interesting flora and fauna. The owners have to share the garden with visiting badgers and deer.
The 1 bedroom cottage which sleeps two in a super-king sized bed is very sunny, and extra cheer in winter is obtained from the log fire (free supplies of logs). The owner’s watercolours decorate the walls of this well-appointed cottage. There is a well equipped kitchen, bathroom (bath and shower over) and night storage heaters. The cottage is ideal for 2, but a comfortable double bed settee is available for occasional use in the sitting room.
“My husband and I spent an enjoyable and comfortable week at Bramblemoor. The cottage is in a beautiful setting, well-placed to explore Dartmoor and south Devon. It is also very well equipped. Helen was very welcoming and greeted us with freshly baked cookies. We would highly recommend this cottage”. (Filiz)
“Simply the most delightful location, hidden away in the depths of Dartmoor; the cottage, approached from within the gardens and grounds is a joy to the eyes; distant views of woodland, hedges and garden paths dressed with flowers and nature. The accommodation is lovely. Well appointed and comfortable, homely enjoying priceless views”. (Chris)
