Haldon Forest


Discover the small but mighty creatures in the much-loved story and learn about the everyday heroic feats of minibeasts in the forest.

The new self-led trail features brightly illustrated panels and a trail pack full of fun activities, including your very own mask.

Set off with Superworm and become a forest superhero!


Make Southwest

MAKE Southwest’s annual exhibition that celebrates the unique quality and craftsmanship of our Maker Members. It all began back in 1955 when a group of local makers worked together and organised a joint exhibition of their work, which has inspired others ever since.


The Garden House

Explore the gardens from 23rd July to 11th September and keep an eye out for mischievous fairies and friendly dragons!

This summer the gardens at The Garden House will be home to all manner of beautiful woodland fairies and friendly dragons, enticing children and adults alike on a Fairy Trail Adventure!


Tavistock Summer Fete

Topping off a perfect weekend, Tavistock Meadows will provide the backdrop for The Great British Summer Fete. Starting at 10:30 until 15:30 there’ll be live music and oodles of food stalls. Hilarious madcap juggling jester Elfic will be on hand with his circus workshop and an array of traditional games, a bickering Punch & Judy, and colourful bouncy castles will be on offer for the little ones. Our four-legged friends won’t be disappointed either, thanks to a fun Dog Show in aid of Gables Dogs & Cats Home. Come and join us – we’ll be waiting to welcome you.


Canonteign Falls

Canonteign Falls, more than just a waterfall!

This August Bank Holiday, come and explore the wonders of Canonteign Falls, set in 90 acres of glorious Devonshire countryside. Two stunning waterfalls, three play areas, trampolines, zip wire, a children’s activity fairy trail and the new Canonteign Labyrinth.


Burrator Discovery Centre

This International Bat Night (27th-28th August 2022), join us for a family-friendly bat-themed bonanza at Burrator Discovery Centre from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday 28th August that will get you batty about bats!

As one of many events taking place across the world we have a range of activities celebrating all things bats.


Alder Vineyard

Come join us on Bank holiday Monday (29th August) for our next ‘Live in the vines’. An afternoon filled with sensational vocals, impressive fingerstyle guitar playing and beautifully nu-soul inspired songs from Rue. We will also be serving our sharing platters, nibbles drinks from across Devon to enjoy in the afternoon sun. Join us on the terrace overlooking Dartmoor with family and friends and a cold glass, the perfect way to top off the weekend.


Crag 2 Mountain

A one-day introductory course to Rock Climbing on Dartmoor.

Perfect for beginners or indoor climbers wanting to try outdoors Rock Climbing.

A fun filled day with as much Rock Climbing and abseiling as possible.

The perfect day to take your first steps to climbing outdoors on rock and learning the fundamental of basic rock-climbing skills.

This course will be run by qualified Rock-Climbing Instructor or higher.
