Meet at Scout Hut Car Park – grid reference : SX 577673. Guide : Stephen Holley

Wheal Katherine was a 19th century mine just to the east Eylesbarrow Mine. It has the usual Medieval openworks and later 19th century mining remains, which include shafts, buildings and dressing floor.

Erme pits is a further 1.5 miles east of Wheal Katherine and consists of large impressive Medieval openworks and streamworks.

There are also two tin mills in the vicinity of Erme Pits, which we could visit if time permits.

Walk distance – 7 to 8 miles.

Add another 1 mile if we visit both the tin mills near Erme Pits. Please bring a packed lunch.
