YHA Okehampton Festival of Walking - Social Walk

YHA are promoting a Festival of Walking throughout England and Wales, running from 4th September to 19th October. They will run running various guided Social Walks and YHA Okehampton are hosting a 8.5 mile walk on Saturday 10th September. This walk will take in the Highlights of the High Moor visiting Yes Tor and High Will Hays. At present the Heather is still beautiful in bloom contrasting with the yellow gorse. It will be lead by experienced leaders from BMC so no worries about getting lost. There is a free coffee/tea provided at the end of the walk. Whilst it’s free to register, we hope people will donate to our campaign to raise enough funds for defibrillator at the YHA hostel by the station, as the nearest one is in town.

You can take the train from Exeter St David’s to Okehampton, and it arrives direct on the platform opposite the hostel, simply walk across the footbridge and you’re there.
