Roadford Lake and Cafe

Here at Visit Dartmoor, we love Roadford Lake!

I’ve spent many wonderful hours walking my dogs around the banks and exploring the trails, and Simon has happy memories of enjoying being out on the water in his sailing dinghy there (and occasionally capsizing!).

We’ve been delighted to take part in the annual Open Day too, great fun meeting up with lots of other businesses and welcoming huge numbers of visitors. It’s very easy to get to, just minutes off the A30 between Launceston and Okehampton, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park.

Roadford is a superb location for family days out, celebrations or corporate events, with its spectacular views and superb customer service.

Situated on the edge of the lake, with stunning views in all directions, the café at Roadford Lake is the perfect place for a refreshing drink and slice of cake with friends and family. Offering locally sourced produce, including great coffee from Okehampton and Farmer Tom’s ice cream!

They aim to help protect our environment, by reducing the use of plastic, keeping food miles low and recycling as much as possible. They try their best not to use disposables, but when they do, you can be sure that everything is fully compostable and they even use that compost to grow their own herbs.

The cafe is open 7 days a week, 9am – 5pm, with indoor and outdoor seating available. They are currently offering sandwiches, quiche, pasties, hot and cold drinks, cakes and ice creams. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates.

Their gift shop, situated within the café, offers a variety of gifts, local produce, home and garden ware. Their aim is to be as environmentally friendly as possible and you will find all manner of items to help you improve your green credentials at home, whether it be a bee house, a bird feeder or an item from one of their favourite suppliers.
