We have a collection of fabulous, immersive, bookable experiences available in Dartmoor National Park and Devon, something for everyone from themed guided walks to caving. You can enjoy woodland restoration walks, photography workshops, learn navigation skills or fall in love with gentle giants on a Shire horse carriage ride.
 
The experiences are not confined to Dartmoor, you can venture away from the National Park and enjoy coastal adventures, or learn about the history of Devon at war with Devon & Moor.

Bookable Experiences

Rock Climbing
A great day visiting some of the Granite Tors that form the unique wilderness landscape found in Dartmoor National Park. Our instructor team give your group a tailored “hands-on” experience of the gritty granite surfaces enjoyed by climbers through rock-climbing, weaselling and bouldering. Whilst out, your instructor will give some insight into the evolution of the landscape, with its Tors as well as some of the natural history features seen en-route.
 
Caving Adventure
Discover a fascinating underground world with Crag 2 Mountain’s highly experienced Cave Leaders and experience a hidden world of peace and tranquility and heighten your senses. Bespoke sessions are arranged with your own personal instructor and the session will be tailored to you and your group.
 
Family Navigation Day
Family Navigation courses are great for the whole family. The adults of the family will learn all the same information as a Basic Navigation course but over a shorter walk to accommodate for those little legs on the course. The skills taught to children are adapted to each child and their individual learning level. Children will have the chance to gain The Outdoor Discovery Award.
 
Rock Climbing Coffee Morning
A 3 hour sociable session, perfect for adults to “have a try” at Rock Climbing on Dartmoor in a relaxed, friendly environment. There will be plenty of climbing, drinks, cake and socialising. There will also be a chance to learn some of the basics of climbing if you feel like learning some new skills. Don’t forget to bring a travel mug !!

Hidden Gems
This workshop is an extraordinary opportunity to learn about the hidden gems of Dartmoor and the fundamentals of great photography, enabling you to capture the unique scenery of Dartmoor National Park. Vivid colours and atmospheric sunlight go hand-in-hand so that the moor is ablaze with an astonishing vibrancy, perfect for creating dramatic photographs. Visit destinations that are off the beaten track and learn how to frame and capture stunning images under the expert guidance of a local photographer.
 
Woodland Restoration Walks Teign Valley
Walks 1&2 – Both walks included with 10am and 1pm start times.
The 10am walk takes in magnificent views and visits the river Teign in its rocky gorge. The 1pm walk visits a peaceful area of the woods where some fascinating wildlife studies are going on. You can choose to book either walk or spend the day enjoying both experiences
 
Walks in Fingle will cover a multitude of habitats and take you through areas where only a few people go and experience nature taking these woods back. Conservation of woodlands includes the safeguarding of historic features that throw some light on the lives of our ancestors from the Bronze Age, Iron Age and into the early industrial period.
 
Devon at War
Devon became known as “the most active military county in the war”. Step back in time and uncover its unrivalled links with WWII, abandoned bunkers, tragic tales and heroic stories will always be an integral part of Devons’ history. Learn about one mans 20 year mission to ensure the lives of 100’s of American soldiers who died on Devon beaches will always be remembered.
 
Coastal Riches
Unique, stunning, captivating, varied, it really is difficult to find the correct words to describe and do justice to Devons’ coastline. With its pristine beaches, historic lighthouses and hidden coves the South Devon coastline is renowned for its outstanding natural beauty.
 
Nature Connection & Mindfulness
Walking from the ancient town of Chagford, we will meander down pretty lanes and up old, green holloways; pass farms and isolated hamlets; sit quietly in a beautiful native woodland; and enjoy stunning views across the moor. You should be comfortable spending 3-4 hours in woodland, and open and hilly moorland.
 
Step Back in Time
Step back in time to experience the history and mystery of ancient Britain and its people. Imagine what it might have been like to live here thousands of years ago as we wander through ruined Bronze Age settlements and sacred sites on Dartmoor including stone circles, rows, and standing stones. The views are stunning atop the majestic granite tors.
 
Real Ale Trail by Horse Drawn Carriage
The Real Ale Trail Dartmoor will take you on a Shire horse drawn carriage ride around the wonderful village of Widdicombe In The Moor. Taking in the far reaching views of the moor, alongside stopping at two pubs where you can enjoy some of Dartmoor’s best ales and maybe even a Dartmoor Whiskey.
