Explore mining remains dating from medieval times to the 20th century in the company of Challacombe farmer Mark as well as Geri.
Learn about techniques used through the ages to mine and process tin on Dartmoor. We will come across wheel pits, mould stones, buddles and more. What is a buddle, you ask? You will find out! Learn too about what life was like for miners in times past and the horrible punishments meted out to those who transgressed mining law.
We finish back at the farm with tea and biscuits.
This event is also available on a bespoke basis, with the option of a pasty or cream tea – or both!
