“ I have never before, in my long and eclectic career, been gifted with such an abundance of natural beauty as I experienced filming War Horse on Dartmoor.” Steven Spielberg.

It offers riverside and other spacious level camping pitches as well as self-catering caravan holiday homes, pods, a special Shepherd’s Hut for “comfortable camping” and quirky ‘Escape Pods’ for two or more.

All the self-catering accommodation is available from mid-March to end of end of October. Camping and touring pitches available from March to November. The park is closed for the winter period.

The park has an abundance of grass, trees, shrubs and hedging. Dogs are welcome and a separate dog exercise field is provided so they can be let off the lead. The park is a Visit England five star graded holiday park with modern facilities that include a heated toilet block with showers and hot water included. The park is a Silver 2019 Visit Devon Award winning Touring, Caravanning and Camping Park.

The park is continually evolving and with recently improved park amenities including family bathrooms and facilities for the disabled, launderette and indoor washing-up facilities with freezer.

The park has all the services to meet the needs of self-catering guests as well as campers, motor homers and touring caravans with electric hook ups, serviced and unserviced pitches as well as hardstands. Also, an undercover games area with table tennis and table football and a separate TV room, children’s play area, hard tennis court (free). Fast fibre supported Wi-Fi across site (charged).

The park is ideally situated for visiting Dartmoor, touring Devon, Cornwall and the Tamar Valley and for visiting beaches on the north or south coast or just relaxing. It is just 2 ½ miles from the bustling market town of Tavistock the birthplace of Sir Francis Drake and part of the Tamar Valley mining world.

We strongly believe in the ethos and values of sustainable tourism, which forms the cornerstone of our business strategy. While actively welcoming guests to enjoy this beautiful part of the world, we do so in a way that safeguards the environment and protects it for others to enjoy for many years to come.

Our commitment to sustainability has been recognised by The David Bellamy Award for Conservation, for which we have retained a ‘Gold’ standard for over 20 years.

We’re also an active participant in the Dartmoor Charter for Sustainable Tourism scheme, which aims to encourage all establishments concerned with tourism to pledge to improve their environment and promote appreciation of Dartmoor.

Around the park, you’ll find evidence of our commitment to safeguarding our natural environment.
