At Holne Moor Shepherds Huts you’ll find two luxury Blackdown shepherds huts, named after our 2 local tors, Bench Tor and Combestone Tor.
The huts are sited in a little paddock close to the farmstead, adjacent to the open moorland, with lovely views of Dartmoor and beyond.
Hill walking, a gentle stroll, wild swimming and pure relaxation all accessible without having to get into your car.
Each hut is suitable for upto 2 adults, fully self-contained with a pull-down double bed, seating area, fully equipped kitchen with hob, refrigerator, slow cooker, utensils, crockery and glasses, shower, toilet and a wood burner for those cosy evenings. Outside there is a gas bbq & firepit with bbq rack, seating and plenty of star gazing opportunities on those clear nights!
Holne Moor Shepherds Huts is a new venture along side our working Dartmoor hill farm, founded April 2020. Myself Lisa, husband Richard and our 2 young daughters welcome you to come and stay with us and experience the beautiful place where we live. We’re situated on the edge of the southern side of Dartmoor in the parish of Holne, approximately 15 minutes from small local towns of Ashburton & Buckfastleigh where you can join the A38, half way between Exeter & Plymouth.
We are a relatively small beef & sheep farm with currently 40 South Devon cows & 250 Swaledale ewes, all of which will be out grazing the moor at various times of the year.
During the winter the cows are tucked up in our cosy straw filled barns and you are very welcome to come and meet them. We are lambing from mid April through to mid May and our fields will be full of ewes and baby lambs until they return to the moors at the beginning of June.
Our farm is currently in a wildlife friendly stewardship scheme, so there’s plenty of wildlife to see and hay meadows to walk through in summer.
