This May, Boringdon Hall invites guests to celebrate World Bee Day on 20 May with a specially curated Honey Afternoon Tea (which runs throughout May), honouring the essential role bees play in our ecosystems, food security, and sustainable future.
Set within the historic surroundings of the Grade I listed manor on the edge of Dartmoor, this seasonal experience embraces one of the most vibrant times of year on the estate. May marks a flourishing period in the gardens and a busy season for the hotel’s resident bees, whose honey is used within this thoughtfully crafted afternoon tea.
Served in the grandeur of the Great Hall or the intimate setting of the Mayflower Brasserie, the Honey Afternoon Tea showcases honey harvested from Boringdon Hall’s own hives. This golden nectar is woven throughout a selection of beautifully created sweet treats, celebrating the natural flavours of the season and offering guests a true taste of the estate.
Rooted in centuries of heritage, Boringdon Hall—first recorded in the Domesday Book—has long been shaped by its surrounding landscape. The presence of bees on the estate continues a quiet, enduring tradition, making this Honey Afternoon Tea a meaningful way to connect with both nature and history.
Guests are invited to indulge in this limited seasonal offering throughout May, in celebration of bees and the vital work they do. The menu includes:
