Peering from the window of our cottage, which overlooks the rolling hillside of the moor, I am ‘wine in hand’, sipping on a nice cool glass of Sharpham.
Located in southwest England in the county of Devon, Dartmoor is a British National Park that’s known for its rocky landscape, its rolling vistas, its forests and rivers, and the wildlife that call it home.
Dartmoor may be blessed with lots of natural beauty, but this is also the very reason why it needs to be preserved.
Dartmoor National Park Authority (DNPA) has the duty to conserve and enhance the quality of the landscape of the National Park as well as to promote the enjoyment and understanding of its special qualities.
Miles into gathering mists the sun set, soaking into the distant blue hills.
As a visitor to Dartmoor, you will find yourself immersed in an environment that is filled with a variety of different types of plants and wildlife.
It’s unsurprising that this is a well-visited little corner of the moor, certainly since being made famous as the setting of the farmhouse in Speilburg’s 2011 film, War Horse.
