“ I have never before, in my long and eclectic career, been gifted with such an abundance of natural beauty as I experienced filming War Horse on Dartmoor.” Steven Spielberg.

Two leading Devon hotels are enjoying a double celebration following a glitzy awards ceremony organised by Food Drink Devon.

The Two Bridges Hotel, in the heart of Dartmoor, was crowned Devon’s best restaurant, while The Bedford Hotel in Tavistock picked up a Gold Award.

Both hotels are under the same local, private ownership, and place a strong emphasis on using the very best ingredients from local suppliers.

The Food Drink Devon awards, now in their tenth year, celebrate the very best Devon has to offer by recognising and championing the county’s most respected, influential and passionate artisan food and drink producers and establishments.

Sarah Howard, hotel director, commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to bits. The whole team has been working incredibly hard, under quite challenging circumstances in recent times, and to be honoured with these two awards is a real credit to them, and to the brilliant local suppliers with whom we work.”

Both the Two Bridges Hotel and The Bedford Hotel have already chalked up many awards for food and hospitality, including Taste of the West Gold awards for four consecutive years.
