1. Dartmoor Zoo

5. Tavistock Pannier Market

12. Drake’s Trail

A great cycling or walking route for families. The Trail takes its name from numerous connections with the famous Elizabethan seafarer Sir Francis Drake and forms part of (NCN) Route 27, the ‘Devon Coast to Coast’. Much of this route is off-road on former railway lines including the Tarka Trail and Granite Way You can rent bikes nearby and cycle the scenic path with kids, stopping at picnic spots along the way.

13. Dartmoor National Park Visitor Centres

Visit one of the Dartmoor Visitor Centres, like the one at Postbridge or Princetown. These centres offer interactive exhibits, maps, and information on the park’s geology, wildlife, and history. It’s a great way to learn more about the area before heading out to explore further.
