The Bedford Hotel in Tavistock has been recognised for the outstanding quality of its food, with a prestigious Two Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence from the AA, the UK’s leading quality assessor for the hospitality sector.
The historic hotel, in the heart of the award-winning Devon market town of Tavistock, has already clocked up numerous awards in the past 12 months, including two Gold Awards from Taste of the West, recognising the quality of both the hotel accommodation and the food offering, and a Silver Award from Food Drink Devon. The hotel was also a finalist in the recent South West Wedding Awards.
The Bedford’s ethos of using the best seasonal ingredients from local farmers, fishermen and producers, has earned the hotel a strong following, with local food lovers and visitors to the town dining on seasonally changing lunch and dinner menus, and special events including the popular Flavours of Asia themed evenings, steak nights and regular wine tasting dinners. The hotel is also a popular venue for private dining events, weddings and celebrations.
The Bedford Hotel’s general manager, Dylan Mulford, commented: “We are absolutely over the moon to have been awarded a second rosette from such a prestigious organisation as the AA. For our hotel guests and our local customers alike, the quality of our food offering – with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients – is absolutely key. This award is rightful recognition for our hard-working team and our excellent local suppliers.”
