High Willhays and Yes Tor

The highest points in Southern England

Standing at 2,039ft above sea level, High Willhays is the highest point on Dartmoor and the highest point in the UK south of the Brecon Beacons.

Standing on the northwestern edge of the moor, the actual rock outcrops on High Willhays are relatively insignifncant; however the nearby Yes Tor (just over half a mile away) has a much more impressive tor on its peak.

High Willhays and Yes Tor are the only summits in England south of Kinder Scout in the Peak District to rise above 2,000ft. The two peaks are around three miles south of Okehampton and 1.5 miles south east of Meldon Reservoir, so can be visited in tandem with Okehampton and Meldon.
