War Horse Valley – News!

There are three new baby miniature donkeys at Parsonage Farm, the home of War Horse Valley Museum.

Jubilee, Emma & Mae – three baby miniature donkeys born all within the last 6 weeks. Don’t forget to say hello to them when you visit the farm, they are gorgeous.

The Farm

Parsonage Farm has been farmed by the same family for nearly 100 years and is the farm around which the book War Horse by Michael Morpurgo was set, along with the parish of Iddesleigh.

It was also once home to Revd John ‘Jack’ Russell, first breeder of the terriers to which he gives his name.

The farm is a perfect place for a family day out as there’s so much to do and to see, have a look below.

War Horse

Warhorse Valley Country Farm Trail

The trail starts at the farm entrance and 15 granite rollers will direct you on a circular ½ mile walk. Children can look out for a letter on each granite roller and together the 15 letters form a place or person’s name.

 Warhorse Valley Tearoom

During our opening times we serve Devonshire Cream Teas and cakes in our conservatory overlooking the stunning War Horse Valley with views towards the village of Iddesleigh.

We have comfortable seating at individual tables indoors and outdoors with disabled access.

 Warhorse Valley Trailer Ride

We have our very own tractor and trailer ride which departs at 3:45pm every day until 30th September 2022. The journey will take you across the fields.
